Must Have Grip for Still Life Photography

Here are some of my pieces of grip that I bring to every shoot!

Show cards - Show cards are my #1 go to when filling in shadows. They come as 30” x 40” sheets, but I cut them down to use small amounts when I’m lighting tiny things. They come in white, black, silver, and gold so you can control how bright you’d like to fill in your products.

Mirrors - Mirrors are used similarly to show cards, but they are way more powerful. I like to use them when I need to bring more details to super dark objects.

Dot & Finger Kit - When it comes to still life, you always notice when the tiniest detail is too dark or too bright. I use a dot or finger to have total control over the brightness of the products I’m photographing.

Color Checker - Every shoot starts with a frame of this color checker. It allows me to make sure all my colors will be reading correctly for the entire shoot.

Gaff Tape - Best tape around!
